Once we get those muddy, maddening, confusing thoughts [nebulous worries, jitters, and preoccupations] on the page, we face our day with clearer eyes.

Journaling is one of the most common habits among the guests I have interviewed on The Inspiring Talk podcast.

After I was recommended to do this by many guests, I started to journal regularly since almost a year now and I can say this is one of the most powerful habits to start your day with.

Three reasons to Journal:

1. Journaling helps you get Clarity of your Thoughts:

The simple act of writing down your thoughts on paper clears your mind from muddy, maddening or confusing thoughts and let you see your day through clear lens. “Once we get those muddy, maddening, confusing thoughts [nebulous worries, jitters, and preoccupations] on the page, we face our day with clearer eyes.”

Julia Cameron, Author of Book- The Artist’s Way

2. Journaling helps you reconnect with your goals and dreams:

Journaling helps you reconnect with your goals and dreams  and vision every single morning. It is very important for us to get aligned with our goals and vision to achieve them. When you reiterate your goals every single morning by writing it down, It’s just so powerful that you know what exactly you should be doing today to get a step closer to your goals. And also, it’s opportunity to do course correction if you are drifting away from your goals.

3. It helps you Keep your mind positive:

One of the most powerful things I do as a part of my daily routine is counting my blessings. Which means recording gratitude. Every single morning I make it a point to feel grateful and happy for what I have. These things not necessarily be materialistic things i posses but as simple as the food I have, the oxygen that i breathe, or the roof over my head. The health that i have, my parents. As simple as it might sound, but counting your blessings has a very powerful positive impact on your mind. You will feel much happier with your life while everyone else is complaining about what they don’t have in their life.
